Marlux is a company that specializes in outside tile floors and brick pavement. As a part of their web-strategy Marlux was looking for an online tool that allows a broad group of people to get to know Marlux products in an interactive, atypical way. The challenge was to develop an easy-to-use but exciting configurator for students, private individuals and landscape architects, that was both informative and stimulating. So we had to add a sufficient amount of options without endangering the usability for users that aren’t used to working with computers.
Although Marlux does not sell directly to private customers, they absolutely wanted to support the end consumer and help him choose the right flooring. But Marlux’ strategy isn’t merely focused on building a terrace or pathway; they want to bring attention to the full outside garden experience. So instead of just building a limited configurator, with possible disappointing results, we decided to rethink the concept and broaden the possibilities. We built an online user-friendly interface where clients could create their own little paradise, while discovering the Marlux brand and products in a spontaneous way.
We consulted Marlux during the entire process, from initial brainstorm to establishing a long-term plan. Bagaar was also responsible for the execution: design, content, programming, development of the control panel and monitoring.
